Shelves always make a good place to put books, but have you ever thought of using books as the shelf to display something else? Making literal bookshelves is an easy way to inject some personality in your decor.
Like in the above photo from Real Simple, shelves made from books look especially interesting when the books are antique and gilded. Choose several books that will match together for a group of shelves, or customize the books to get that old-fashioned look.
Decide where you’d like to place the shelves. A bedroom or office area are naturally inclined towards book decor. Measure the width and thickness of the books and hang up shelving brackets so each book will have a bracket above and below it to hold it in place.
Put the books on the brackets, hiding the top bracket behind the book cover. Adorn the shelves with quirky knick-knacks and curiosities for an intriguing, worldly presentation.
